Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026 · Young Street Farmers, Kenya

1. Who we are

Young Street Farmers is a community forum in Kenya that empowers street youths through free skilled training in farming. This website shares our story, our programmes, and how well-wishers and donors can support the work.

2. Data we collect

This website does not have accounts, application forms, cookies for tracking, or analytics that identify you. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us directly by email (for example when you click a "donate" or "talk to us" link and write to us from your own email app).

When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you share it, and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and to coordinate donations or partnerships.

3. How we protect trainees' privacy

In line with the Data Protection Act, 2019 (Kenya), we protect the dignity and privacy of the youths in our programme:

  • Photos on this site are representative imagery; they do not identify individual trainees.
  • Graduate stories use first-name aliases only. Real names, locations, and identifying details are never published.
  • We never sell, rent, or share personal information about trainees, donors, or visitors with third parties.

4. Your rights under Kenyan law

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your personal data is used;
  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal data;
  • Object to the processing of your personal data;
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) if you believe your data has been mishandled.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at youngstreetfarmers@gmail.com.

5. Donations

Donations are voluntary and go directly toward training costs, mega projects, and trainee starting capital as described on this site. Donor recognition (public or private) is entirely the donor's choice — we never publish a donor's name or amount without their explicit consent.

Figures shown on this site (such as the KSh 35,000 per-trainee cost and the KSh 1,500,000 mega project budget) are good-faith estimates of programme costs.

6. Terms of use

  • Content on this site is for information about our programmes and may not be copied or reused for commercial purposes without permission.
  • Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice.
  • We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
